Howdy everyone and yes, two blogs in one week…crazy, I know. But we have so many exciting things happening all at once. Along with our amazing chalkboard sign projects, Chalk It Up Signs is at the Connect 2015 Show in Vancouver October 18-19. Samantha Scholefield is the Event Manager and boy howdy can she ever run an event, plus she is one sweet gal!
This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our chalkboard menus and signs to the hospitality industry of British Columbia. We love our thriving internet based business but sometimes it is really nice to be able to shake hands with people and give them the opportunity to see our product in person.
This year, the CIUS framer extraordinaire and my partner in life, Dave, is away in Ontario. He gets to be a rock star again and play and sing with some old friends back in Guelph. Our daughter Ava went with him to witness this rock star redux. Dave is usually at the Connect Show with me, setting up the booth and walking the floor making connections. I feel his absence hugely and the only way I could fill that gap was to take three “chalk chicks” with me to help out at our booth this year. Martina, Sue and Kim will be my partners in chalky crime next week. As much as I will miss having my number one side kick Dave, I have a feeling that the chalk chicks are going to set the bar for trade show fun that will be unparralled. I am trying to take naps in anticipation of the non stop fun. Oh, and work…yes, we will be working very hard…
I also have to make sure we pack everything on the check list. We have to take two ferries to get to this event and wouldn’t it just be horrid if we forgot something and had to go all the way back to Fantasy Island to get the thing we forgot that was essential to our booth’s set up and then all the way back to Vancouver ? Yes. Yes it would (I have no experience with this at all.). Here are a couple of photos of our booth getting packed up. Expect more photos from the trade show. You will get to see the chalk chicks in action. We even ordered t-shirts with the CIUS logo from our good pals at Vital Graphix. Thanks Dianna!
Okay, that’s all for now. Off to pack, organize, draw. No rest for the wicked.
