BLACK BOARD INFO AND FRAMING OPTIONS

The Black Boards:
Our chalkboards are now made from a light weight, durable sign substrate so no mess with stinky blackboard paints and heavy fibreboard! Our black boards are completely rewritable, using liquid chalk pens or regular ol' chalk! You can wash them with an ammonia based cleaner or Simple Green, and they become like new again!

The Framing:
Our boards are framed in local Douglas Fir, sanded and given a clear sealer to protect the wood, ready for you to finish however you like. Stains and paints are additional in both charge and lead times. If you require a different wood, just let us know and we will look into it!

Staining and Painting Frames:
Staining the frames is not recommended for shipped boards unless you can add an additional week of 'cure time'. Because of the nature of our packaging in order to protect the boards in transit, the stains need to be cured FULLY. If you do have the additional time, then we do stock Dark Walnut, Cherry, or Brown Mahogany, or if you have a particular stain you'd like us to use then let us know.
