The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men …

Don’t have a hope in the wilds of Canada.

Howdy friends and welcome back to Chalk It Up after our holiday adventure time out!  Our family took a much needed break and spent some time on our sailboat cruising the magical waters between the mainland of western Canada and Vancouver Island.  Our experience was unbelievable.  I would love to tell you all about it.  I would love to sit you down with a cup of tea, you would settle back into the comfy chair and you would ready yourself for my long winded account.  Since none of us really have time for that, suffice it to say, good times were had.  Our only hiccup was that my plan to access the interweb regularly was foiled by remoteness.  This despite what all the guide books promised us.  Just so you know, out in the middle of nowhere…technology does not exist.  Still.  And those that tell you it does are independently wealthy or thinking wishfully.

We managed to have a breathtaking experience despite our severed connection and were ready to come back to the studio with a sense of eagerness and excitement you find when you have been away for a while.  We are so grateful to all of our clients for their enthusiasm and support and patience while we recharged.  We have some great projects in the queue and we will share them with y’all in due time.

But for now, please enjoy a couple of images from the epic adventure. Yes, that’s a beach umbrella on the back of our boat.   A wild but lonely Pacific White Sided Dolphin adopted us at one of our remote anchorages.  The kids sat in the dinghy and splashed their hands in the water and it came right up to them, just out of reach.  We weren’t sure why it was separated from its pod, but it sure was happy to see us.

Unplugging has its advantages from time to time.
